At the Global Forum on Food and Agriculture forum (GFFA) in Berlin on Saturday, agriculture ministers from more than 70 countries discussed how to farm and build a sustainable bioeconomy. Politicians also discussed the challenges of food security, especially in response to potential threats and crises, and critical food supply chains.

At the 17th World Food and Agriculture Forum, ministers and policymakers discussed the global economic system, which is facing major challenges due to its reliance on non-renewable energy sources, fossil fuels. The use of scarce resources is exacerbating the climate change crisis, with drastic effects on global food security.

Sustainable, circular bioeconomy can be a solution to this situation and has a key role to play.

The Forum also discussed the impact of the Ukraine war on global food security and the need to sustain grain supply through Black Sea initiatives.
