Farmers' warning to the government: friendly protests are not forever

Farmers are already angry at the government, which is trying to bulldoze through tax changes that could drive many farms into bankruptcy.

Farmers protested outside the Seimas last week and are still outside Parliament this week, but the prevailing opinion is that the government will not listen to the farmers. This is also the view of the farmers themselves, who are increasingly saying that the friendly protests could come to an end if the government does not listen to them.

On the one hand, the Minister of Agriculture, Ignas Hofmann, claims to be on the side of the farmers, but on the other hand his situation is not an easy one. It seems that the minister has no intention of stopping the farmers if the Parliament continues to turn a deaf ear to their fears.

„Agrobite play“ channel captured this sentiment at the protest. It featured a total of three farmers' warnings. The first of these was to the authorities.
