Anatomy of a protest: farmers' message to the countryside (VIDEO)

Could it be that there is a global attack on farmers, including in Lithuania, to drive people who love the countryside off the land? What is the importance of farmers to rural communities and how should civil society function? These questions are painfully unanswerable every time we visit farmers' events and talk to them.

The latest protest showed that farmers, united, can achieve a lot – to change or at least slow down the government's plans to make decisions that are disastrous for the countryside.

Single questions to the people in power make everyone stumble: what is the real purpose of higher taxes and bans? Even the Minister of Agriculture, Ignas Hofmann, only has to listen to these questions, but it is not always possible to answer them in public.
