Two people shot dead whilst hunting in Norway

Two people were shot dead and a third was seriously injured during a hunting incident in south-eastern Norway, local police reported on Sunday.

A suspect was arrested following a shooting on Sunday morning in Halden, approximately 120 kilometres south of Oslo, police said.

“The bullets struck three people. Two were killed. A third was seriously injured,” wrote police spokesperson Gisle Lindheim Sveen on the police’s information website.

“They were part of a group of hunters,” he added.

The police separately reported that they had arrested a suspect and added that the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear.
