Who is killing the Lithuanian countryside and how? (VIDEO)
"Agrobite play" The channel continues to offer a new format of podcasts for the Lithuanian population working in or sympathetic to agriculture.
This time we have invited not only our traditional guest, Valdemaras Jacikas, a businessman and social activist, but also Valius Ąžuolas, a farmer member of the Seimas.
With "Ministry of Affairs" we spoke on four topics. The aim of this podcast format is not to argue, but to provide in-depth analysis where listeners and viewers hear how decisions are made and why they often fall short of public expectations – in this case, the expectations of rural people.
How will farmers live? Is it time to board up the farm windows? How can farmers trust the decisions of politicians when hunting area users will no longer compensate farmers for damage caused by transient animals to crops from 1 January 2026, provided that the area of crops does not exceed 5%? How should we view the proposal by Minister Andrius Palionis to keep pigs for cereal farmers and why is it that decisions taken in the cabinet openly ruin the countryside?
It is these questions that "Agrobite play" the channel's editor-in-chief, Gediminas Stanišauskas, has asked V. Jacik and V. Ąžuolas to answer.
