While Lithuanian farmers are threshing barley, Russia is already seeing perhaps its worst grain harvest in three years. Will this have an impact on global grain prices and will Lithuanians feel the impact?

One of Lithuania's largest supermarket chains, „Iki“, has upgraded all its stores to electronic price labels as early as May 2024.

Traders see this as a good thing, but Valdemaras Jacikas says it's a really good, efficient solution that helps optimise pricing.

In the US, however, there are already reports of a collaboration between technology companies and two supermarket chains to link image recognition systems to shoppers' shopping habits. Although this is more like a conspiracy theory for the time being, as neither Microsoft nor the other companies have yet provided official confirmation, the experience of society in many countries tells us that what is negative for a while often becomes reality after a while.
