The requirements for farmers to receive support are further defined
The Order of the Minister of Agriculture amended the rules for the implementation of the intervention measure "Non-productive investments related to the restoration and conservation of biodiversity, habitats, landscapes" of the Strategic Plan of Lithuanian Agriculture and Rural Development for 2023-2027.
The amended rules specify the type of applicant considered eligible for support. One of the eligibility requirements is amended to state that an area of at least 0.5 ha consisting of fields of at least 0.1 ha, where natural habitats of EC importance or habitats of threatened species have been identified and which have not been declared for support under the Lithuanian Agriculture and Rural Development 2023–2027 Strategic Plan (Strategic Plan) for the eco-system „Integrated grassland and wetland management scheme“ activity „Management of natural grasslands, wetlands and species habitats of EC importance“.
The Rules also provide that an applicant may participate in this intervention with an area of at least 0.5 ha under management, but with a minimum of 0.5 ha when applying for support for arable and other agricultural land and livestock and with a commitment under the Strategic Plan's Ecological System Strategy „The activity "Management of natural meadows, wetlands and species habitats of EC importance" will have to comply with the general requirements and the requirements for this activity as laid down in the Rules on the application for support for agricultural and other areas and for the administration and control of direct payments.
