Unnecessary. Why does Lithuania not care about young farmers? (VIDEO)

There is a lot of talk about the fact that the Lithuanian countryside is dying and that measures need to be taken to encourage young people to return to the countryside. Various programmes and strategic plans have been devised for this. Tens of millions of euros are being allocated to help farmers settle down.

But as the experience of such farmers shows, all this is just talk, based on declarations, while the reality is far more terrible than a young person can imagine.

Dainius Pracius and Marius Pracius are brothers who set out to set up separate farms. One is 36 years old, the other is 38. Both have benefited from support for setting up young farmers.

But their good expectations were soon replaced by pessimism and a struggle for survival, with the National Paying Agency planning to impose penalties of up to €20,000 on each of the men.

It is not only the size of the penalties for the warehouses, which in principle met the design requirements, that is shocking, but also the very way in which the NPA's specialists interacted with the men who wanted to return to the countryside.
