The portal lrytas.lt announces that a wandering bear has been spotted in Kupiškis district in winter as well.

„There is a bear hanging around here all the time, it's no sensation. For two days in a row, it has been spotted in one place and another in the Šimoniai Forest," said Bronislovas Domža, chairman of the board of directors of the Kupiškis branch of the national Hunting and Fishing Society.

Last time this visitor wandered in Šimoniai Forest, near Anykščiai district – there are hunting areas of Šimoniai Hunting Club. The leader of the club, Rolandas Samokaitis, said that one hunter had set up a CCTV camera near the wild game feeder. It would start filming when the sensors detected movement and immediately send a message. <…>

Hunters in Kupiskėnai have no doubt that it is a local bear. At this time of year, bears are already preparing for hibernation, looking for suitable denning sites. In the past, bears used to migrate through our region, but apparently they liked it here, found food and stayed," B.Domža mused, according to the portal lrytas.lt (Darius Krasauskas. „In the forests of Kupiškis r. – a bear is already called a local bear: he thinks he is looking for a place to hibernate”)).
