The turkey products were produced by the Polish company "EKPOLS" and imported by UAB "Vilnė".

Pathogenic organisms were detected in the turkey on 29 October

The Polish company has not commented on how the salmonella bacteria appeared in its products.

After receiving the notification, the MoHH identifies the Lithuanian outlets that received or distributed the unsafe product and gives them clear instructions to recall the product from the market as soon as possible and to make sure consumers are informed of the possible risks. In addition, retailers are instructed to publicise information and make it possible for shoppers to return unsafe products. This is the responsibility of sellers and supermarkets, as they have a duty to protect their customers from potential health risks.
