Officials of the Klaipėda District Chief Police Commissariat have opened a pre-trial investigation into the death of a tractor when a reinforced concrete structure fell on the cab of the vehicle.

A reinforced concrete structure reportedly fell on the cab of a MAN tractor-trailer in the village of Kiškėnai on the company's territory, crushing the driver.

Firefighters disconnected the battery of the tractor. The company's staff de-energised the cable connected to the reinforced concrete structure. A crane arrived and lifted the structure and the company's tractor was used to pull the tractor.

Using hydraulic equipment, the truck's doors were unlocked, the roof was raised and the body of the dead man was pulled out.
