Vilnius is building horns for agriculture. We talk to R. Žemaitaitis (VIDEO)

Before the new ruling coalition has even started to work properly, there are claims from both the opposition and the Presidency that the Social Democrats made a mistake when they invited the party „Nemunas aušra“, led by Remigijus Žemaitaitis, to join the coalition.

According to the coalition's contract and agreements, the Ministries of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Justice should be headed by representatives of „Nemunas aušra“, but President Gitanas Nausėda on Monday said that he would not approve any members of the party Nemuno aušra“ to be nominated as ministers.

„Agrobitė play“ channel interviewed Žemaitaitis to find out what the situation is, as there are already concerns in the farming community about the uncertainty of the future if the minister of agriculture, and the minister of the environment, who is very closely linked to it, cannot be approved for several months. What are the options?

Also what lies ahead for the excise duty on labelled diesel, and whether farmers should be treated as employees, as the Social Democrats, who are currently leading the coalition, are already saying. In that case, personal income tax for farmers would rise to 20%, compared to the current GPT of between 5% and 15%, depending on the income received.

We talk to R. Žemaitaitis about all this. Don't forget to subscribe to our free "Agrobitė play" channel on "Youtube". Subscribe, comment and rate. This is your best help to help us grow and expand.
