China to launch all-electric tractor in Europe
In autumn this year, Chinese start-up „ZSHX Advanced Tractors“ unveiled a production-ready electric tractor at the Changsha Exhibition. According to the German agricultural website „Eilbote“, „ZSHX Advanced Tractors“ plans to launch the first electric tractor models in Germany next spring, which are currently being tested in China.
The tractor is said to have an output of 90 hp and is equipped with a 105 kWh battery from Chinese manufacturer CATL. The battery powers two electric motors, one for propulsion and the other for the PTO shaft and hydraulic functions.
The tractor is equipped with four-wheel drive and automatic climate control. In addition, its functions can be controlled via an ISOBUS interface. The battery life, once charged, is 4-5 hours for heavy work and 6-7 hours for moderate work.
ZSHX Advanced Tractors was founded in Beijing by mechanical engineer Yongjun Chen (47). The company employs 25 engineers and software specialists, who in four years have developed an electric tractor for production.
