The "Tractor Dakar", which finished in Žasli last weekend, was covered by foreign media, including the major agribusiness media in Ireland and Poland.

„Tractor Dakar“ in Lithuania and the most interesting scenes“, – this is the title of the article published by the „Tanks and Tractors“ website online, which also published the winners of all categories and a number of photos from this unique event.

This is quite an achievement for the Tractor Dakar, as it is very difficult to get the global media interested in a local event.

„You can ride without a wheel, or a Dakar for farmers and their machines“. This is the headline under which perhaps the largest and most influential Polish agribusiness portal „Farmer.pl“ begins its article.

„Is it about agriculture? Probably not, but it's great fun with agricultural machinery“, – says „Farmer.pl“ journalist Kamil Pawłowski‘s.

„It is interesting that about 10 thousand people watched this event live, which in the country of our neighbours is equivalent to a top-class football match“, – adds „Farmer.pl“.

The Polish portal also highlighted „Barscuolė“'s wheel-less finish, publishing many photos of her. It also mentioned that Russian and Belarusian-made tractors were banned and compared the measurement of participants' speeds to the „Rallye Monte Carlo Historique“ and „Rally Polski Historyczny“.

The "Tractor Dakar" in Lithuania was also covered by Ireland's largest and one of Europe's most influential agri-business portals, „Agriland.ie“.

„Tractor Dakar“ has gone to Lithuanian fields“, – this is the title of the opening article of „Agriland.ie“.

„Tractors are now also used in competitive racing – a team sponsored by „Massey Ferguson“ is taking part in the „Morocco Desert Challenge“, and Lithuania recently hosted a race dedicated exclusively to these vehicles. The race, dubbed the "Tractor Dakar", took place last Saturday (21 June) in the west of the country's capital city of Vilnius, journalist Justin Roberts tells our readers.

„Agriland.ie“ clearly reflected the „Tractor Dakar“'s prior rule on restrictions. „While most sports strive to be non-political, entrants in this competition could not compete with tractors purchased with EU support, nor could they use state-subsidised diesel fuel“,  writes Ireland's largest agribusiness portal.

Media coverage has been all over the place, with Jolanta Grey, a well-known Lithuanian farmer and opinion leader, being the mastermind behind the event.

The event was also praised by „Profi“

A detailed report on the „Tractor Dakar“ in Lithuania was also published by „Profi“, the world's most authoritative magazine. The magazine's main portal, based in the United Kingdom, published the text and photos from Lithuania in its main position.

„Lithuanian farmers hold first tractor race“, – says journalist Steven Vale in the headline.

JCB“, „John Deere“, „Fendt“, „Massey Ferguson“, „Steyr“ and „Zetor“ tractors. There were also a number of Ukrainian-built „XTZ T-150K“ tractors“, – writes S. Vale.

„Profi“ is a professional agricultural machinery magazine. It is the only specialist magazine and online source for independent machinery testing and unbiased reports. So the organisers of the "Tractor Dakar" have achieved something that no one in Lithuania has ever done before.
