Three combine harvesters burnt overnight

The past day has been one of the blackest for this year's harvest. Within a few hours, as many as three harvesters burnt down in different parts of Lithuania.

The first fire broke out just after noon in the vicinity of the village of Šatraminiai (Skuodas r.), when a combine harvester caught fire, along with the cereals it was cultivating. When the firefighters arrived, the combine harvester was already on fire. The fire had burnt out the engine compartment of the combine harvester, burnt and charred the wiring insulation, and scorched both front wheels.

Crops and stubble with straw burned in three different areas of the field over an area of 2 acres.

Another fire was reported at around 15:00 in the village of Perlojos (Varena district), where a harvester Laverda 2760XL“ caught fire. The fire burnt the engine compartment and all combustible parts of the combine harvester.

After 18:00, firefighters also rushed to the vicinity of the village of Kirkļi (Telšiai district), where a combine harvester „Dronningborg“ caught fire. The fire burnt the engine compartment of the combine harvester.
