In Latvia, milk purchase prices increase by a quarter
The average farm-gate milk price in Latvia in November last year was EUR 45.72 per 100 kilograms, 24.2% higher than in the same month of the previous year, according to information from the Latvian Agricultural Data Centre.
In November, compared to October, farm-gate prices rose by an average of 7.6 per cent during the month.
Latvian milk purchases fell by 1.5 per cent year-on-year to 62.4 thousand tonnes.
In the first 11 months of last year, the country bought 767.3 thousand tonnes of milk, up 0.7 % on the previous year.The average farm-gate milk price in the European Union in November last year was €51.71 per 100 kilograms, 4.2% higher than a month earlier and 16.5% higher than a year earlier.
