Milk purchase prices increase in Latvia

The average farm-gate milk price in Latvia in the first month of this year was 23.7% higher than in January last year at €48.63 per 100 kilograms, according to information from the Latvian Agricultural Data Centre. 

In one month (the first of this year, compared to the last month of last year) purchase prices rose by an average of 0.8 percent.

Latvian milk purchases increased by 3 per cent on a monthly basis and by 2.8 per cent on an annual basis to 68.43 thousand tonnes.

The average milk procurement price in the European Union in the first month of the year was €53.49 per 100 kilograms.
