In Latvia, alcohol production fell by 12%.
Latvia produced 3.207 million litres of alcoholic beverages excluding beer in the first month of the year, down 11.9% compared to January last year, the State Revenue Service said, citing excise duty collection data.
Production of fermented beverages with a strength of up to 6 degrees declined by 30.9 per cent, while production of stronger beverages – increased by 18.6 per cent.
Production of intermediate alcoholic products with an alcoholic strength of up to 15 % grew by 14.1 %, while that of 15-22 strengths &ndash declined by 99.7 %.
Wine production increased by 16.7 percent.
Other alcoholic beverages production decreased by 11.5 percent.
Latvia reduced its production of alcoholic beverages, excluding beer, by 15.4 percent in 2024.
