Latvian agricultural output prices increase by 3%.

Latvian agricultural output prices in 2024 were on average 3.0% higher than in 2023, the National Statistical Office said.

Agricultural output prices fell by 0.5 percent, while livestock prices rose by 8.4 percent.

The overall level of crop production prices was mainly influenced by a 6.3 per cent drop in the buying prices of cereals, including barley – 13.3 per cent, rye – 16.8 per cent and wheat – 4.9 per cent. Rapeseed purchase prices increased by 16.6 percent.

Vegetables fell on average by 0.6 per cent and potatoes by 8.5 per cent.

The price index for livestock production was boosted by a 27.1% increase in the price of poultrymeat, a 14.4% increase in milk purchase prices and a 6.7% increase in the purchase price of hornbills (8.5% for large &ndash, 2.5% for small &ndash). Meanwhile, pig purchase prices decreased by 9.5%.

The average farm gate price for eggs in Latvia was 7.1% lower last year than the year before.

In 2023, prices for agricultural production in Latvia were on average 18.9 per cent lower than the previous year.
