Latvia has reduced its milk production by 5% year-on-year.

Latvia bought 63.82 thousand tonnes of raw milk last month, 4.9% less than a year ago, according to data published by the Latvian Agricultural Data Centre.

Milk production accounted for 4.3 per cent of the milk bought in February, up 2.2 per cent year-on-year.

The number of cows in milk production in the year to the end of last month fell by 7.3 per cent to 118,200, while the number of cows used for milk production fell by 6 per cent to 108,400.
