Thursday was marked not only by a hellish fire in the Pakruojis district, where almost a hundred cattle were burnt, but also by disasters in the fields as the spring harvest got under way.

At 17:00, a combine harvester „Dronningborg D8900“ burnt down in the fields of Gudakiemis village (Trakai district). The Fire and Rescue Department (FRA) reported that when firefighters arrived at the scene, the combine harvester was already burning in open flames. Specifically, the engine compartment of the combine harvester „Dronningborg D8900“ was on fire.

The electrical control box was reportedly burnt and part of the engine compartment was burnt. Another incident was recorded in the village of Skardupiai in Vilkaviškis district. A tractor „John Deere R8370“ burst into flames.

The fire burnt all the combustible parts of the tractor and scorched around 3 acres of stubble. The disc cultivator was protected from the fire.
