Firefighters across Lithuania made about 300 trips to remove fallen trees, 130 thousand households were left without electricity

With strong wind and heavy rain since Sunday evening, firefighters across Lithuania have made around 300 trips to remove fallen trees.
They fell not only on roads, but also on cars and buildings. No casualties were reported, the Fire and Rescue Department told Elta on Monday morning.

Calls to remove fallen trees were received between 6 a.m. on Sunday and 6 a.m. on Monday morning. „We have seven calls to remove trees from cars, five from buildings, we have no information about victims“, – Robertas Šmitas, a representative of the Situation Coordination Division of the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue, informed Elta.

The highest number of reports came from Alytus county – about 70, Klaipėda county –  40, Tauragė county – 30. In Vilnius county – 25 calls.
At the same time, the energy distribution operator ESO announces that due to the disaster, more than 130,000 consumers have no electricity.
„In parts of Lithuania, the strong winds have led to an increase in the number of power outages, we regret the situation and the outages are being handled. We are making every effort to restore the power supply," says ESO.

The Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service announces that on Monday it will rain in many districts, with heavy rain in many places in eastern Lithuania. Thunderstorms are possible in some places. Winds north-west, west, 16–21, in some places 22–27 m/s. Maximum temperature 16–21 degrees.

Short showers in many places on Tuesday. Wind northwest, 9–14 m/s, gusting to 15–18 m/s at night in places. Temperatures at night 13–18, during the day 20–25 degrees. 
On Wednesday it will rain briefly in some places. Fog in places during the night. Wind from the west, at night 4–9 m/s, during the day 6–11 m/s. Temperatures at night 10–15, at the seaside 16–18, during the day 21–26 degrees.
