"PepsiCo buys chips and tortillas maker Siete Foods for USD 1.2 billion

U.S. „PepsiCo, one of the world's leading producers of soft drinks and snacks, has signed a $1.2 billion agreement to buy the world's largest soft drinks company, PepsiCo. „Siete Foods“, a maker of „Garza Food Ventures“ branded chips and tortillas, is being acquired by PepsiCo for US$1.1 billion.

According to a statement from „PepsiCo“, the deal is expected to close in the first half of next year. Texas-based „Garza Food Ventures“, which began operations in 2014, specialises in Mexican-style products including corn chips, tortillas, sauces, condiments and cookies.

„PepsiCo“ markets its products, including well-known brands such as „Pepsi-Cola“, „Lay's“, „Cheetos“, „Mountain Dew“, in approximately 200 countries.
