The world's leading soft drinks maker – the US „PepsiCo“ slightly and unexpectedly cut its revenue in the last quarter of its financial year, but grew its profit by 17 percent.

According to the company's announcement, in the roughly three-month period ended 28 December, sales revenue fell $27.85 billion to $27.78 billion and net profit rose from $1.3 billion to $1.52 billion, compared to the same period a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share were USD 1.96.

Analysts interviewed by „FactSet“ forecast average revenue of USD 27.89 billion, with adjusted earnings per share of USD 1.94.

The North American „Frito-Lay“ snack chain's revenues were down 2%, the „Quaker Foods“ division – was also down 2% and the beverage division – was flat. In Latin America, revenues were down 7%, while Europe – grew by 6%, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia – by 5%, and the rest of Asia Pacific – by 2%.
