Swiss food giant „Nestle“ has reported a modestly stronger-than-expected rise in revenue for the first quarter of the year, confirming its previously announced forecasts for the full year.

Revenues rose 2.8% year-on-year to €22.6 billion, according to the report. Swiss francs (just over 24 billion euros).

Sales volumes grew by just 0.7 per cent, while output prices rose by an average of 2.1 per cent.

Revenues in the Americas were almost unchanged, with Europe – up by 2.5 per cent, and Asia, Africa and Oceania – up by 3.6 per cent.

The company manages more than 2,000 employees. „Nestle“, „Nescafe“, „Nesquik“, „Nestea“, „Movenpick“, „KitKat“, „Gerber“, „Maggi“, „Perrier“, „S.Pellegrino“, „Purina“ and „Friskies“, and its products are sold in 188 countries.
