"Mažvydas Šileika becomes CEO of Dotnuva Baltic

Mažvydas Šileika.

Majvydas Šileika takes up the position of Managing Director of „Dotnuva Baltic“, one of the largest agricultural machinery and equipment trading and service companies in the Baltic States. He replaces Jonas Bakšis, who has held the position until now, and will focus on the other three companies „Linas Agro“, „Dotnuva Seeds“ and „Geoface“.

Mažvydas Šileika believes that „Dotnuva Baltic” will become the undisputed market leader and will continue to pursue sustainable business growth. "I am joining the experienced and professional team of „Dotnuva Baltic“, with whom we will focus on strengthening customer service, offering modern farm solutions and creating a culture for a successful organisation," says M. Šileika.

With the Baltic countries witnessing a 25% contraction in the machinery market, Šileika says that the agricultural machinery and equipment sector in the three Baltic countries is facing different customer sentiment. In Lithuania, investment is slowly recovering, while in Estonia there is still stagnation. At the same time, the demand for rental and services is growing, as is the need for automated, robotic and digital solutions. The economic situation in agriculture is expected to improve in 2025 and 2026 and the machinery market is expected to recover.

Mažvydas Šileika holds a BSc in Management from the University of Leeds and an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from City University London Cass Business school. He worked for six years at SEB Bank, most recently as Head of Bond Issuance for the Baltic States. He joined the Akola Group at the height of the COVID pandemic in April 2020 and became a member of the Akola Group Board in 2022. Currently, Mr Šileika is a member of the Supervisory Board of „Kekava Foods“ and serves on the boards of „Kauno grūdų“, „Vilniaus paukštynas“, Akola farming, UAB „Dotnuva Baltic“, „MESTILLA“, AB „Linas Agro“ and a few other companies.
