In Estonia, milk purchase prices rose by 12.5% year-on-year.
The average farm-gate milk price in Estonia last month was 12.5% higher than in December last year at €480.2 per tonne, according to the national statistics office.
Prices rose by an average of 3 per cent during the month of December compared to November.
Purchase volumes rose by 5.8 per cent on the month and by 0.8 per cent on the year, to 73,300 tonnes, of which 63,100 tonnes were of the highest grade.
The average fat content of milk bought last month was 4.0 percent, and the average albumen content 3.5 percent. Both these indicators remained stable over the year.
Estonian dairies produced around 8.9 thousand tonnes of drinking milk last month (up 0.6 thousand tonnes year-on-year), 2.7 thousand tonnes of milk for milk production (up 0.5 thousand tonnes year-on-year) and 2.7 thousand tonnes of milk for milk production (up 0.5 thousand tonnes year-on-year). 0.2 thousand tonnes more), 2.5 thousand tonnes of cream (about the same as last year), 0.4 thousand tonnes of butter (about the same as last year), 5.4 thousand tonnes of cheese and cottage cheese (2.1 thousand tonnes more).
