Austrian agricultural equipment manufacturer BAUER has introduced theft protection systems for irrigation systems, making it impossible for thieves to cause damage to farmers.

„With the new system (SAF), pivot irrigation systems are protected against theft all year round, day and night. The SAF system can also be retrofitted on existing installations," adds BAUER in a statement.

The SAF system, which features a battery- and solar-powered communication system that can be easily installed in the pipes or components of the axlebox, protects the irrigation machine safely and reliably.

An audible alarm or satellite message is activated when panels are opened or wires are broken. The farmer is immediately informed by a call or by the "WhatsApp" app – monitoring is carried out 24 hours a day, all year round.

„By dispensing with sensors and using only mechanical contacts, BAUER avoids false alarms. Powered by a solar panel and equipped with a stationary battery, the system provides reliable protection even in the event of a power failure. It is also seamlessly integrated into the "Irricontrol" platform," BAUER emphasises.
