Fines for Polish farmers for machinery not covered by third party insurance increase by 35%.

From 1 July. On July 1, Poland will introduce stricter liability penalties for failure to insure a commercial vehicle with third party liability insurance.

Failure to take out third-party liability insurance for tractors, trailers or other self-propelled machinery while on public roads will result in a fine of up to PLN 1,430 (€331).

The fine will depend not only on the type of machinery, but also on how long it has been since it was not insured. In this case, the fine will increase steadily from 290 zlotys (€67) to the aforementioned 1430 zlotys.

Far worse for a farmer is the risk of not having third party liability insurance on the truck. This could result in a fine of between 2,580 and 12,900 zlotys (600 and 3,000 euros).
