The Austrian agricultural machinery manufacturer “Pöttinger Landtechnik” is once again recording growth following a two-year market slowdown. For the 2025–2026 financial year, ending on 31 July 2026, the company closed with a turnover of €485 million – 5 per cent higher than in the previous financial year. This is the first clear sign that, following a record surge and the subsequent sharp downturn in the agricultural machinery market, the company’s sales curve is once again trending upwards.

The figures clearly illustrate the fluctuations the machinery manufacturer has had to weather in recent years. In the record-breaking 2022–2023 financial year, “Pöttinger“ recorded a turnover of 641 million euros, whilst in 2024–2025 this had fallen to 461 million euros.

This means that the company had lost 180 million euros, or approximately 28 per cent of its turnover, from its record high. Over the past financial year, 24 million euros in sales have been recouped. Although the current turnover of €485 million is still €156 million, or approximately 24 per cent, below the record level, the trend has already reversed.

Forage harvesting machinery is particularly important to the company. “Pöttinger” reports that it has maintained a high market share in this segment and has even increased it in the haymaking and forage harvesting machinery and forage trailers segments.

This is also significant because forage harvesting machinery has traditionally been one of the Austrian manufacturer’s key areas of operation. As far back as the 2023–2024 financial year, when the company’s turnover stood at €491 million, it was this segment that was identified as the largest in terms of sales.

“Pöttinger’s” business is heavily dependent on exports – the proportion has remained at around 90 per cent for many years.

Based on the current turnover of €485 million, this would theoretically correspond to around €436.5 million in sales in foreign markets and approximately €48.5 million in the domestic market, although the company does not provide such a precise breakdown of its revenue.

Germany and France remain among the most important export markets. Meanwhile, in Austria itself, above-average sales growth was recorded in 2025–2026.
