Cedric Goumaz, a passionate farmer and motorsport enthusiast, with the support of the Swiss „Massey Ferguson“ dealership „Küfferagri“, has made history by becoming the first person to complete the race of the Moroccan desert in the legendary MF 8S Dyna E-Power tractor.

From 3 to 12 April, Cedric Goumaz and his MF 8S Dyna E-Power completed the 3,000 km rally from Agadir to Ouarzazate, finishing 75th out of 144 entries and 4th in the truck category.

This event is a testament to the versatility and adaptability of the MF 8S Dyna E-Power, which has added to „Massey Ferguson“'s haul of victories including „The Harvest Brigade“ in 1944, the first and second missions in Antarctica, the adventure in the North Cape, and the humanitarian projects of „Tractor'Dak“ and „Africa Track“.

The „MF Desert Challenge“ team („Küfferagri“ staff) transformed the „MF 8S Dyna E-Power“ into a desert-ready racing machine in just two months.

They increased the engine power to 390 hp, reaching a top speed of 75 km/h in harsh conditions. The tractor was fitted with an additional fuel tank. Michelin Evobib VF 600/70 R30 tyres at the front and VF 710/70 R42 tyres at the rear were fitted with a central inflation system, which can be inflated or deflated in 3.5 minutes using an 1800 l/min compressor.

The front axle suspension has been upgraded, the chassis has been strengthened, the hydraulic system and electrical wiring have been reinstalled, and the navigation system, essential for racing, has been installed.

„MF 8S“ The cab has been adapted to accommodate two full-size seats – an operator and a helmsman. The transformation of the MF 8S from an agricultural tractor into a rally-ready machine is considered by experts to be a true engineering marvel.
