Zelenskyy: Russia will do everything it can to block the grain corridors

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia has set itself the goal of blocking the grain corridors. Since Wednesday, ships have been unable to enter Ukrainian ports due to Russian attacks, he told journalists.

“We knew several months ago what they (the Russians) were planning to do. They will do everything they can to block the grain corridor. Yesterday, not a single ship was able to enter our ports. They attacked all the ships and these attacks will only intensify“, said V. Zelensky. 

The situation in the agricultural sector is reportedly a major challenge, for which preparations have been made in advance. It has been decided to assign responsibility for this area to a specific individual.

Since the Ukrainian maritime corridor became operational, more than 197 million tonnes of cargo, including 117 million tonnes of grain, have been transported through Ukraine’s seaports.

Recently, Russia has attacked ships sailing through the Black Sea corridor. These attacks are disrupting shipping, prompting Ukraine to request an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, accusing Russia of deliberate economic and humanitarian terrorism.
