A man is killed in a forest in Vilkaviskis district

An unfortunate accident occurred on Thursday in Vilkaviskis district when a man was cutting a tree.

Police report that at around 13:00, a tree was cut in a tree. At 13:10 min. At 10:00 am, a 63-year-old man was cutting a tree in the forest around Daukšaičiai village when a falling tree branch struck and fatally injured him.

A pre-trial investigation has been opened under Article 176(1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania (violation of occupational safety and health requirements).
