The last few days have seen a significant amount of precipitation in many parts of the northern part of the country, writes meteorologist Gytis Valaika in the social network group "Weather and climate in Lithuania".

„There was a lot of rain and yesterday the monthly norm was already exceeded there. From the other side of the coin, the rainfall was much needed. So the drought before the summer was dealt a severe blow, but not all the rainfall went to the deeper layers of the soil where it was dry. The worst situation at the moment is in southern Lithuania, where rainfall has been available but is still scarce," explains the meteorologist.

„Nature continues to retaliate. Earlier in the spring it was very dry. When May came, it cooled down a lot. But now it has even started to drown a little," writes Gytis Valaika.

Today in Lithuania, the chances of rain are slim. Winds from the west, 7–12 m/s. Maximum temperature 17–22, in western districts locally 12–16 degrees.
