Beer production in Latvia falls by a quarter

In the first two months of this year, Latvian breweries produced 8.186 million litres of beer, 24.3% less than at the same time last year, according to the State Tax Inspectorate's data on excisable goods.

Meanwhile, Latvia's beer imports in the two months increased by 12.9% to 12.598 million litres compared to the same period last year.

In the first two months of this year, 12.585 million litres of beer were consumed in Latvia, a decrease of 15.8% compared to last year. The volume of beer exported from Latvia increased by 7% to 3.959 million litres.

Latvia produced 68.539 million litres of beer in the whole of last year, 7.2% less than in 2024. Beer imports fell by 22.4% to 91.784 million litres.
