Beer production in Latvia fell by 5.6 per cent between January and May.
In the first five months of this year, a total of 21.275 million litres of beer were produced in Latvia, which is 5.6 per cent less than in the first five months of last year, according to data from the State Tax Inspectorate.
Over the five-month period, 38.336 million litres of beer were imported into Latvia – the same amount as during the first five months of 2025.
In total, 47.432 million litres of beer were consumed in Latvia over the five-month period – 6.7 per cent less than last year. The volume of beer exported from Latvia fell by 0.9 per cent, from 15.153 million litres last year to 15.02 million litres.
Over the whole of last year, a total of 68.539 million litres of beer were produced in Latvia, i.e. 7.2 per cent less than in 2024. Last year, 91.784 million litres of beer were imported into Latvia – 22.4 per cent less than in 2024.
