The Ministry of Agriculture will use funds borrowed on behalf of the State to complete farmers' projects
The Ministry of Agriculture (MAA) has finally found the money to finance farmers' projects, which have been missing not even €20 million, but more than €27 million.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania held on 12 November, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania adopted a decision to allocate EUR 27.033 million to the Ministry of Agriculture from the funds borrowed on behalf of the State to ensure the co-financing of projects
„Of this, EUR 15.533 million to ensure co-financing of the Lithuanian Rural Development Programme 2014–2020, and EUR 11.5 million to ensure co-financing of the measures of the Lithuanian Strategic Plan for Agriculture and Rural Development 2023–2027 for the period of 2025,“, “ said the reply of the Ministry of Agriculture to the Ministry of Agriculture„Agrobitei“.
Whether this means that the National Paying Agency (NPA) will no longer return calls from the 163 applicants whose projects were underfunded remains to be seen, but the government's decision looks set to resolve the problem.
