Exclusive plant-based protein plant to be built in Lithuania

Asociatyvi nuotr.

„Royal Cosun“, a leading Dutch agricultural cooperative, plans to build a high-quality plant-based protein plant in Lithuania. The plant would process raw materials close to where they are grown, thus accelerating the green transformation of the economy. This industrial biotechnology project, if implemented, would significantly contribute to the development of the bioeconomy in Lithuania and create skilled jobs.

This plant – is another opportunity for our farmers to process their produce locally.

The new plant would be part of the „Cosun Protein“ division, which produces „Tendra“ bean protein isolates through advanced extraction, purification and process automation technologies. Lithuania offers excellent conditions for such an investment, and the project team has selected the Kaunas Free Economic Zone (FEZ) as a potential location for the plant, whose developed industrial ecosystem opens up opportunities for research and development partnerships.
