The basket of cheapest products became more expensive in January

The average basket of the cheapest foodstuffs in Lithuanian shops in January was 0.2% (13 cents) more expensive than in December 2025 and 0.6% (41 cents) more expensive than in January last year, the portal pricer.lt reports.

The difference between the cheapest („Maxima“) and the most expensive („Norfa“) basket of the cheapest groceries amounted to 19.1% (12.2 euro).

Analysis of the average basket prices of popular and well-known pricer.lt products shows that they grew by 4.5% (€2.8) over the month and by 1.9% (€1.2) over the year.

Of the 52 commodity prices monitored by pricer.lt, 29 commodities increased in price, 22 commodities decreased in price, and one commodity remained stable. The most expensive items were black chocolate, apples, tomatoes, while the most expensive items were butter.
