"Esspo and Agrosiltnamiams allowed to acquire Anykščiai vegetable growers

The ice and snow melting agent manufacturer „Esspo“ and the vegetable producer „Agrošiltnamiai“ will be able to acquire control of the newly established vegetable production company Anykščių šiltnamiai and the company it manages, „Anykščių daržovės“.

The transaction was cleared by the Competition Council on Tuesday. The proposed concentration will not lead to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position or significantly impede competition in the relevant markets, the Council said in a statement.

„Esspo“ manufactures and supplies ice and snow melting materials for airports in North East and Central Central Europe, as well as wood and chemical additives for concrete. Esspo's related companies in Lithuania are involved in investments, production and trading of concrete and wood products.

„Agrosiltnamiai“ sells vegetables and seeds in Lithuania and abroad. 

Anykščių šiltnamiai, established in April, grows and sells vegetables, while its affiliated company „Anykščių daržovės“ processes (ferments) vegetables and sells them in Lithuania and abroad.

According to the data of the Centre of Registers, as of July last year, the company „Esspo“ owns 40 per cent, „Agrošiltnamiai“ – 50 per cent, Paulius Andriejavas – 10 per cent of the total number of shares in the company. Anykščių šiltnamiai shares. The latter controls 100% of „Anykščių daržovių“ shares.

80% of „Esspo“ shares are held by the company „Lp plius“, owned by its manager Lukas Pakeltis, 20% by Virginijus Petronias, while „Agrosiltnami“ is owned by the company „Senamiesčio tilto investicijos“ (26% of shares) and five natural persons.
