The "Global Dairy Trade" (GDT) index rose by only 0.4% to 1081 points in the last trading session. In the trading session on 16 July, the most expensive products were Cheddar cheese (+6.2%) and buttermilk (+4.0%). However, both skimmed milk flour (-1.1%) and whole milk flour (-1.6%) were cheaper.

Among others, lactose (-0.6%) and Mozzarella (-0.8%) also went down.

The marginal rise in the GDT index so far indicates uncertainty in the market, given that in the previous trading session the index was down by almost 7 percent.

The GDT trading floor is operated by the New Zealand dairy cooperative "Fonterra". Trends in the Oceania area reach Europe in about 1.5 to 2 months.
