One of the largest dairy processing companies in Lithuania Rokiškio sūris has acquired 0.86 million units, or 2.7% of its own shares, for EUR 1.9 million.

Settlement for the shares bought back on September 23&nd–27 will take place on Tuesday, the company said on the „Nasdaq“ Vilnius Stock Exchange on Friday.

„Rokiškio sūris“ announced last week that it will buy back 10%, or up to 3.23 million units, of its own shares for EUR 7.1 million, at a price of EUR 2.2 per share (nominal value of EUR 0.29).

According to the company, the move is aimed at completing the exit of strategic investor – the world's largest milk exporter – the New Zealand company „Fonterra“ from the company in Rokiškis.

At the end of 2017, the Dutch-registered subsidiary of „Fonterra“ acquired a 10% stake in „Rokiškio sūris“ for more than EUR 7 million. In April this year, it decided to sell the shares.
