‘Rapsoila’ is to build a rapeseed processing plant in Kėdainiai for nearly 13 million euros

Biodiesel producer “Rapsoila” plans to build a rapeseed processing plant in Kėdainiai, in which it will invest nearly 13 million euros, according to “Verslo žinios”.

It is anticipated that the plant will be capable of processing up to 100,000 tonnes of rapeseed per year. It would produce technical rapeseed oil for further biodiesel production, as well as animal feed and lecithin.

It is estimated that around 40–44,000 tonnes of technical rapeseed oil will be produced annually, 56–60 thousand tonnes of animal feed and around 1.5 thousand tonnes of lecithin.

As the company informed the portal, the total eligible project costs amount to 12.72 million euros. Of this, €7.62 million will come from the European Union’s (EU) Just Transition Fund, with a further €5.1 million to be invested by the company itself.

“Rapsoila” has already begun preparatory work for the project and is procuring equipment. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of August 2029.

According to data from the Centre of Registers, last year „Rapsoila“’s revenue grew by 3 per cent to €90 million, whilst net profit fell by approximately €1 million to €4.88 million.
