Crime in Varėna - a man cuts down someone else's wheat?
An unusual criminal incident was recorded on Saturday, when a man in the village of Giraitė (Varėnos district) in the middle of the day cut down a woman's field of triticale. At least that is what the woman said in her police statement.
The circumstances of the incident are still being clarified, as is the potential damage.
Similar incidents happen from time to time. Usually, crops are cut down as a result of disagreements between individuals.
The fact that officials are clarifying the circumstances of the incident is an indirect indication that this may be the case.
