Danish meat traders allowed to set up Moert joint venture
Danish meat traders „Tican Fresh Meat“ and „Himmerlands Food Group“ have been authorised by the Competition Council to set up a joint venture, „Moert“, and to acquire joint control over it.
The Competition Council announced on Friday that it has authorised „Tican Fresh Meat“ and „Himmerlands Food Group“ to set up a joint venture, „Moert“, and to each acquire a 50 % stake in the company, as well as joint control over it.
„The proposed concentration will not lead to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position or to a significant impediment of competition in the relevant markets“, – the Council announced.
According to the Council, the company to be established, „Moert“, will produce various processed meat products and distribute the products to retailers in Denmark and the Scandinavian countries, while „Moert“, will not be active in Lithuania.
„Tican Fresh Meat“ and its related companies, known in Lithuania as „Premium Food Group“, are engaged in the wholesale of meat, heat-treated meat products and animal food in the country.
In Lithuania, „Himmerlands Food Group“ related company „Himmerlandskod“ is engaged in the wholesale of fresh beef.
