Kaunas District Farmers' Union summer rally (VIDEO)

A kerchief throwing competition organised by Andrius Gudžius, the world discus throwing champion who grows scratches, a foam show for children, and the energy of fellowship and good mood – such was the atmosphere at the rally organised by Kaunas District Farmers' Union (KRŪS) at Irmantas Zalensas' camping site „Dubysa“.

„We gathered to celebrate, to be together. The morning was politically active. Some of us were in Vilnius, at the Seimas. Around 20 farmers came from Kaunas district (...) The most important thing is that we are together and that we are active. Everyone. Not only the farmers who work and love the land, but also those who help to do it. And the companies, their employees who train and advise, who contribute and help in every other way. Today is a celebration of all of us, which is becoming a tradition," said Mindaugas Maciulevičius, President of the KRŪS, in his welcome speech, highlighting the 20th anniversary of the union's activities.

It is understood that KRŪS members have been active members of the Lithuanian Farmers' Union before, but having started their independent journey two decades ago, today they can boast of the many achievements they have made.
