Why do farmers avoid short food supply chains? (VIDEO)

No farmers have applied to develop short food supply chains. Agriculture Minister Andrius Palionis told a breakfast meeting with journalists in Vilnius that a model to encourage farmers to develop short food supply chains was still being sought.

Recent events, in the case of kovido. Because we remember well... I was a minister just then. As a long-chain... They broke in one night. Then all the walls closed. And before the green corridors opened... So now the situation in this geopolitical sense, it's going to change radically. Because each country will take care of its own food supply (for the population and the army)," said Mr Palionis.

If farmers really do not want to cooperate, why are they not attracted to participate in such invitations - people in government are trying to find the answers in their offices and in conversations with social partners.
