Milk farm gate price rose last year but remained below the 2022 record

The average annual buying-in price for natural milk in Lithuania last year was €503.1 per tonne, up 14.1% on 2024, but short of the all-time record of €507.7 in 2022.

In December, the farm-gate milk price fell by 9.1% compared to November to €431.26 per tonne, according to the Agricultural Data Centre.

Large dairy farms selling more than 40 tonnes of milk per month paid €460.52 per tonne for raw milk of natural fat in December.

Large farms accounted for more than 71% of the total volume of natural-fat milk delivered from farms in Lithuania last month.

According to the European Commission, the average EU farm gate milk price in 2025 is €525.9 per tonne, up 8.6% on 2024.

The average milk price received by Community farmers in 2025 was a quarter higher than the average of the last 5 years.
