40 chickens burnt down in Šiauliai district

An outbuilding caught fire in Šiauliai district on Saturday night. The fire burnt the roof, scorched the walls and burnt 40 chickens inside, the Fire Protection and Rescue Department (PAGD) reported.

According to the Fire and Rescue Service, at 01:38 a.m., a report was received that an outbuilding in the village of Švendrė was on fire with hens inside. 

The farm building is brick - log, 1-storey, roof covered with slate. The fire burnt the roof, scorched the walls and burnt the 40 hens inside. The adjacent barn was protected.
