Jonavos azoto trąšų gamykla „Achema“.

The Jonava-based Achema, a producer of nitrogen fertilizers and other chemical products, managed by the Concern „Achema Group“ generated sales revenues of EUR 436.7 million last year, an increase of 3 percent over the year 2023.

The company alone made a net loss of €12.8 million last year. At the same time, its EBITDA was €3.7 million.

According to Audronė Kuskytė, Managing Director of „Achema“, the European fertiliser industry has been facing significant economic challenges in recent years.

„Our results were mainly affected by the import of fertilisers into Europe from third countries, especially Russia, where the product is made from cheap raw materials and environmental taxes are not paid, which has led to a competitiveness problem for European producers,“, – the report quotes Ms Kuskytė as saying.

The company paid €41 million to the state budget last year.
